Carl Grant - Biography

Whilst moving from North east of England to the South East and graduating with an honours degree in the photographic arts, Carl Grant also made the transition from painter to photographer. He has developed his distinctive style, over the last twenty years, into an imaginative body of work spanning an eclectic range of photographic genres.

Specialising in interior, architectural and travel photography, his commissioned work has been as varied as – documenting the culture and historical architecture of Saudi Arabia for the Ministry of Information to a permanent art installation in an 11th century gastro inn, in Berkshire.

Despite the commercial applications of his work, Carl’s ‘painterly’ eye has taken his photography into the realms of fine art – creating brightly coloured abstracts in the ‘Pop Art’ style, in contrast to his moody black and white images, which have been likened to that of the great American landscape photographers.

Carl’s work is regularly featured on the walls of contemporary Berkley Homes show apartments throughout London, and often sold along with the apartments. His talent for creating unique – often personal – pieces of photographic art, in different mediums, has led to a number of private commissions to adorn the walls of peoples homes.
